Failing

So what do you feel when you mess up? When you know you've dissapointed god? Do you beat yourself up? Do you switch yourself off or unplug yourself from christ because you don't feel you're worthy of him? How do you react?

So it's really been a big thing in my life, falling, in the same thing, time and time and time and time and time (get my gist?) again. But what i have learnt , and truly understood is God's grace. He sure didn't die for 'good' people. He sure didn't die for those 'worthy' of him. No way! He died for sinners. He died for those failures, for the one's who keep messing up, he knew there was no hope for us without him. So what did he do? Gave his life for us!! That's a pretty darn strong love he has for us eh... so he died for our rubbish... Jesus is pretty much our 'advocate' He presents us to God as holy and righteous!

We need to keep going when we fail, we need to say 'sorry god, i've messed up, please forgive me, and help me not to do this again' and so long as you're trying not to fall again, it doesn't matter what is going to happen in the future, what mistakes you're going to make, god is going to forgive them! Just really encourage you to keep going! God will give you strength. He gave his life for you, so wouldn't he want to help you live a life holy and pleasing to him? He knows you're going to make mistakes. But he STILL loves you.

Jeremiah 8:4-5 - "The LORD said: People of Jerusalem, when you stumble and fall, you get back up, and if you take a wrong road, you turn around and go back.

After i realised this, i started falling less and less.... i've realised i'm nothing, and he is everything, i have just put my absolute trust in him to fight my battles for me... and you know what? He has fought it flippin amazingly. He fought a battle there is no way on earth i could fight and conquer on my own. Because i had kept trying to fight it on my own over and over, but i kept falling down! Now i'm not falling.... and god is fighting hard out against my struggles for me!

Grace, it's a powerful thing... if we keep plugged in to the power source, he will forgive us! :) Embrace it, don't hate it. Accept you're not ever gonna be 'good' enough.. or 'worthy' of christ. That's why god sent jesus for you. We've just got to do our absolute best following him, staying connected and being plugged in.

Psalm 40:2-3 - "and pulled me from a lonely pit full of mud and mire. You let me stand on a rock with my feet firm, and you gave me a new song, a song of praise to you. Many will see this, and they will honor and trust you, the LORD God."

  1. Hey Annie! Matt P here. Courtesy of your facebook advertising. Love what you've written here. Truly! You've got your mind & heart around that key issue of what we do when we fail. Not cheapening it either by brushing our sin away, but pointing to Jesus, as our advocate, our righteousness. Keep pointing the way and I hope that you share these insights with others (not just online) ;) Because you've really encouraged me

  3. It definitely is. It's almost like there is barriers that stop us from talking about such issues. Anyway, keep your posts coming. I'll be looking out for them. There will be a mass of followers in no time. Strange though, that of the followers you now have, there's one obvious thing in common...Very strange indeed
